Precision Shaped by Human Hands

Handcraft

Each KOHA frame is born from an intricate, multi-step process in Fukui city, Japan. A region with a long-standing tradition of eyewear craftsmanship.

From the many stages involved in production, we have carefully selected these key fragments to share.

Materials

Our frames are crafted from pure titanium, known for its exceptional strength, lightness, and corrosion resistance, ensuring durability and all-day comfort. They are paired with CR39 lenses, prized for their lightweight and excellent optical clarity. The lenses offer 100% UVA and UVB protection and are finished with a backside anti-reflective coating to reduce glare, an anti-scratch hard coating to resist scratches, and a hydrophobic coating to repel water for clear vision in any condition.

Design

Our design process tells a story, inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Albania. Traditional symbols and historical elements are carefully chosen to be engraved or sculpted into each frame, creating subtle meaningful details. This phase blends memory with modernity, resulting in eyewear that feels both timeless and contemporary, where design, comfort, and identity meet in perfect balance.

Making a Mold

Each frame begins with the creation of a precision mold, crafted by master artisans to capture every curve, edge, and nuance of the design. This mold becomes the foundation of the production process, ensuring that every piece reflects the original vision with flawless consistency and craftsmanship. This process requires extraordinary skill, as tiny imperfections affect every frame. In Fukui, artisans spend decades perfecting mold-making, elevating it to a true art form.

Parts Manufacturing

Guided by the master mold, each frame component is expertly crafted through precision cutting and shaping techniques. Every part is rigorously checked to meet our high standards, ensuring only flawless pieces advance toward becoming a KOHA frame. This meticulous process combines advanced manufacturing with strict dimensional control to ensure perfect fit, durability, and lasting performance.

Removing Debris

Each component undergoes a thorough cleansing process to remove all dust, particles, and microscopic residues. This essential step not only ensures an immaculate surface but also prepares the frame for the delicate polishing and coating stages ahead. By eliminating impurities early, we guarantee a flawless finish that enhances both the visual elegance and the long-term resilience of every KOHA frame.

Polishing

Each frame component is carefully polished by hand, a delicate process that removes any imperfections and refines the surface to a radiant sheen. This attentive craftsmanship brings out the natural beauty of the materials and also guarantees a smooth, comfortable fit for the wearer. The result is a flawless finish that reflects precision and passion, elevating every KOHA frame to a work of art.

Final Assembly

All parts are precisely assembled to exact specifications. Lenses are mounted with accurate alignment, and all mechanical joints are secured for structural integrity and smooth articulation. Each frame undergoes a series of quality checks, ranging from visual inspection and alignment calibration to stress testing and comfort fitting. All critical parameters are thoroughly tested and validated before final release.
